Bottoms Up! Guardiola Commends City Draw With Brighton

Manchester City are on top of the world – and the English Premier League (EPL) table – after they drew 1-1 with Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday, 24 May.

Brighton was able to hold off Pep Guardiola’s men for the majority of the entertaining game, despite a 25-minute strike from Phil Foden that put City ahead. The lead lasted for 13 minutes before Julio Enciso struck and equalised for the hosts.

The Seagulls put on a stellar defence that denied City any further chances, but the full-time whistle still saw a 1-1 draw on the scoreboard, which earned both sides a single EPL point.

Just three days before, the Citizens thoroughly enjoyed their 1-0 win against Chelsea at Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England, which cemented their EPL title hold with 89 points, and they celebrated the title win by boozing it up.

Guardiola was in high spirits, calling the draw “exceptional” before saying: “I think we drunk [sic] all the alcohol in Manchester, and 40 hours later we behaved and showed the reason we are the champions.”
